Optimal

Arizona-Licensed · Same Provider Every Visit · Entirely Online

Optimal isn't a number off a chart — it's where you function best, and the only way to find it is to measure it. Start with a free 15-minute video consult with Lauren Orta, FNP-C. She orders your bloodwork, reads it against your symptoms, and builds your plan from there.

Why Men Switch

Most Men Are On Their
Third Clinic

Testosterone, weight management, sexual health — the story is the same. The first clinic never adjusted the dose. The second had a different provider every visit and a portal that took two days to answer. Neither ever explained what the numbers meant. Here's what this one looks like.

  • Day 1A 15-minute video consult with Lauren Orta, FNP-C — the same provider at every visit after this one, not whoever's next in the queue.
  • Day 2Your lab order arrives by email. One draw, at a lab near you.
  • Day 4She reads your results against your history and your symptoms — not against a threshold on a chart.
  • Day 5Your protocol is set. Or she tells you treatment isn't the right call. Both are real answers here.
  • Day 6Medication arrives at your door.
  • Week 8Recheck and adjust on data, once your levels have stabilised.
  • QuarterlyOngoing review with the same provider. Refills ship before you run out.

The Difference

A Clinic, Not A Pharmacy
With A Questionnaire

National telehealth is built to scale. That means volume, rotating clinicians, and a form where a consult should be. We built the opposite.

AZTRT

  • The same named provider at every visit
  • Live video consult before anything is prescribed
  • Full panel read against your symptoms — free and total T, SHBG, estradiol
  • Dose reviewed at week 8, then quarterly, on data
  • Fertility raised before you start, not after
  • Arizona-licensed, treating Arizona men only
  • $149/month, published on the website

National Telehealth

  • Whoever is next in the queue
  • Often a questionnaire instead of a visit
  • One number, read against a generic range
  • Set the dose and move on
  • Fertility mentioned in the small print
  • A call centre in another time zone
  • Price after you hand over your details

NEJM · 2023

Cardiovascular safety

The TRAVERSE trial found testosterone non-inferior to placebo for major cardiac events in men who already had cardiovascular risk — and reported higher rates of atrial fibrillation, kidney injury and pulmonary embolism. We publish both halves.

Frontiers in Endocrinology · 2024

Sexual function

A pooled analysis of 28 randomised trials across 3,461 men found meaningful improvement in erectile function, and no significant difference in PSA, prostate volume or urinary symptoms.

What "normal" misses

Reference ranges run roughly 300–1,000 ng/dL. A man at 340 and a man at 900 are both told "normal" — and total testosterone can look fine while free testosterone sits at the bottom.

Questions

Everything You Need To Know

How is this different from a national telehealth service?
You see the same Arizona-licensed provider at every visit rather than whoever is next in a queue. Your bloodwork is read before anything is prescribed. And your dose is reviewed against repeat labs at week eight and quarterly after that, rather than set once and forgotten.
How much does it cost?
$149 per month — provider visits, ongoing monitoring and your medication shipped. The initial video consult is free and your initial hormone panel is included as a new patient. Follow-up monitoring labs are billed separately and can often be applied to HSA, FSA or insurance. Full pricing →
Do I need bloodwork before starting?
Yes, always. Your baseline panel measures total and free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, hemoglobin and hematocrit, and PSA for men over 40. Nothing is prescribed until your provider has read your results. What we monitor →
Will this affect my fertility?
Testosterone therapy suppresses your own production and with it sperm production. If you may want children, say so before you start — hCG alongside testosterone, or enclomiphene instead of it, are both real options that need choosing at the outset rather than retrofitting later.
Is TRT safe?
For the right candidate and with proper monitoring, the evidence is reassuring on the questions men worry about most — but there are real risks that need watching, and we publish them rather than glossing over them. Read the full safety page →
How quickly can I start?
Most men have medication in hand within about a week of their consult, assuming the lab draw is done promptly. The lab turnaround is the only real variable.
Do I need insurance?
No. AZTRT is cash-pay at $149 per month, and nothing is filed to your insurance — so nothing lands on your insurance record. Follow-up lab work can often be processed through HSA, FSA or your insurance provider if you prefer.
Can I cancel anytime?
There are no long-term contracts. Testosterone therapy is assessed in 90-day cycles because levels take roughly 8 to 12 weeks to stabilise on a new protocol — that's when your provider can tell whether your dose is right. Your cancellation terms are set out in full at checkout before you pay anything.
Do you treat outside Arizona?
No. Our providers are licensed in Arizona and can only treat Arizona residents who are physically in Arizona at the time of their visit. That isn't a preference — it's what the licence permits.
